Does anyone know exactly how much i will need to cut off my 5 dr disco with 2" lift to fit these and use off road or are they too big?

i put them on my disco the other day, has a 2" inch heavy duty lift, had to cut the corners off the rear quarter and plastic sill cover, also had to massacre the front endcaps to turn and still if i go over a speedbump a bit fast they catch my arches so looks like im gonna have to take a few inces off the arches and rear door

lol wait till u hit a speed bump
why dont ya measure the distance betwen ya bump stops and the axle, add an inch and measure up the same amount from the top of the tyre?

I run the same size tyre as you and not got any probs.
Have got 2" lift plus blocks under the spring cups as well, giving me just under 4" lift, I didn't want to have excessive axle travel but wanted more lift which these blocks allowed me to do.
The plus side is that my wheels dont disappear right up into the arches.
You will probably need to adjust your steering lockstops with standard Landy alloys.
I bit the bullet and fitted a wide arch kit which meant a huge amount of grinding and jigsawing and involves cutting the second skin on the rear doors as well
The end result is pretty cool though.

I want bigger tyres and want to offroad it so what is the biggest tyres i can use without cutting the rear doors

You are possibly at that limit with265/75 16s
I haven't bought 265/75/16s yet i was looking at getting a set but have been put off now lol.
would 255/70/16s be ok offroad?

It depends on the type of tyre and the ground conditions as to whether it will be ok off road.
If you do alot of road miles you might not want a tyre with such an aggressive tread as they are NOISY!!
Handling in the wet can be a issue too.
Land Rover specced the Disco with 205/16 or 235/16 section tyres to get a balance between on/off road capability.
You need to decide what you want to do with yours on/off road and try to hit a happy medium.
From personal experience I would suggest going to at least a 235/85 16 size to give you more clearance under the diffs if you end up on a rutted piece of track.
I run 265/75 16 Insa Turbo Dakars on wider offset modular wheels with no problems whatsever - didn't even need to adjust the steering lockstops.
I chose to cut the arches and fit the wheelarch extensions as I was going to have to trim a fair bit from the arches anyway.

ok ta i looked at that guide 1st but its not very descriptive on how much i would need to chop out. I am not really worried how bad it drives on the road just didn't want to chop the top of the arch's and rear doors to bits.

The blue Disco in front of mine with the snorkel belongs to DorsetVogueSE, his is on 265/75 16s same as mine - you can see that they fill the arches right up but the rear arches had to be trimmed on the back edge. He is on at least a 3" lift as well.

Personally I would not fit 265/75 16 without at least a 2" lift and trimming the rear arches. A standard front bumper will need trimming as well.

so to adjust the rubbin does the front need to be jacked, both tyres or just the one to be adjusted
