Got the old axle out, but then found that the spring seats were rotten.
Neither of the local Indys had noo ones in stock, so I've gotta wait till tomorra before I can fit the new one.
Am down west tomorrow morning and dunno what time i'll be gerrin back but if i'm in time i'll give yer a bell so yer mate dint do himself in properly!

Well the fookers in at last!
All seems to be OK on the road test.
Stamping on the brakes now locks up the rear wheels. Might have to add a pressure regulator instead of the T piece to the rear brakes.
Biggest problem fitting it was getting the old brake flexi off (where it goes through the bracket on the chassis). had to get the grinder onto it in the end.

how about a brake splitter, Trewy - yu can then adjust the brake balance?

Got the correct spring seats in the end. They had one last little dig though - they said they'd be there at 11:00 this morning. I went along at 11:45 and they weren't there. I said I'd wait - they turned up at 12:30.
I shall be doing a separate fred about me noo suspenders tomorra.

I was going to say that, the braided stuff tends to go hard tho, best with rubber fuel pipe instead, as you say cable ties are wicked they eat through everything.
But it's a smashin job.
