Can anyone please tell me how to remove old transmission fluid and fill with new
Freelander 2000
2.0 diesel

Much more important quesiton, manual or auto?
If auto, be very careful!
Reason I stress this is that here is a bolt on the back of the gearbox, up high near, the scuttle pane, l that looks like it should be a level plug, it isn't. Undoing that bolt causes the reverse band to fall out of place necessitating a gearbox refurb, or one or two specialists in here used to be able to do something in situ. Neither is a good outcome, and numerous freelanders have been wrecked by their owner or even a garage mechanic making that mistake. If I get the time I'll have a look about see if I can find the correct drain / refill procedure for the freelander auto box.
