I haveanew shape 2002 Range Rover. When pulling away from stand still or reversing slowly I can hear a squeal coming from what sounds like my gear box. Any ideas??

sounds more like handbrake or rear pads rubbing to me but someone will have had the same prob and found a cure did my classic with anti squeal or copper crease

I'd have the front diff/drive shaft looked at, especially if the noise is more prevalent with the wheels turned.

I have had new break pads fitted, disc's skimmed and still here a noise. Its only when pulling away from stand still either from forwards or reverse then nise goes away as speed builds up. If the front end is jacked up the wheel can spin freely. Has any one any other idea's.
