Does the lever still move forwards and backwards, but doesn't engage gear? If so it might be a broken part on the linkage between lever and box. Look up from underneath on the drivers side inside the chassis rail and see if the two verticl linkages are connected .. the Diff-lock causes concern at the top of the change mechanism, and is accessible from under the centre console, but the Hi-Lo often breaks the linkage at the T-box end .. so it's either floor out or do it from below ...
Could possibly still be a bent linkage. One of them (can't remember which) is a folded/pressed steel thing on the end of bent wire .... that bends if the wind blows wrongly .. I welded an extra 'stiffener' bit to mine the third time it did it ..
