Recently, I have been plagued with false error messages on the dash message centre saying "TRANSFER BOX NEUTRAL" together with a very loud annoying warning bleep. This occurs randomly sometimes not at all and at other times keeps repeating itself many times.
It's very irritating and embarrassing especially as there is no actual use/change of use in the Transfer Box.
Occasionally the message says "LOW RANGE" or "HIGH RANGE" but mostly the "NEUTRAL" message. It can do this when the vehicle is at any speed or even stationary.

My thought is that there is a loose cable/electrical contact - has anyone experienced this and any solutions please?

mine has been doing this today.

im led to believe its to do with the sensor / position contacts in the transfer box motor

try cycling the box into low and high range a few of times

beware, if you haven't used the low range for a while you can end up getting stuck in low range as the motors can get sticky if not used.

if it is the contacts within the motor im pretty sure you cant actually change the faulty contacts, in which case you have to change the whole transfer motor !

good luck

As above, there was a guy who was trying make a new plastic casing for the switch mech on the TB motor....not sure how far he went with it as they are not available separately....so if you do need to change it out...expect a kick in the wallet for a replacement TB motor!
