Can anyone please describe how to identify the difference between the v8 and td5 trans controllers by either the LR number or the ZF number.

By "trans controller" do you measn transfer box?

Auto transmission ECU. Depending on who you talk to depends on what they call it. Land rover do actually refer to it as the trans controller although I think this is an Americanism
