Sounds like they are guessing and quoting the most expensive bit.Heard back from garage today with regards abs warning / traction failure there exact words are could be 2 things ecu or abs modulator and we think its the modulator ! Price for new one 1500 ouch. May have to get 2nd opion.
So you fitted a new battery, have you checked the battery voltage?Don't know fault codes speaking to them tmoz the symptoms I had was fitted new battery and alt and hey presto warnings appeared on dash tried all the sensors to make sure they in properly etc. Need to find someone in cornwall with faultmate or similar to have a look myself.

The garage plug into diag apparently but seems wierd they came up with 2 causes ? Battery voltage checked out ok tested that before going to garage remebered what you guys had said in past. Think I going to take it out of this garage and try somewhere else shame cause they work on lr all the time. Should I be able to get print out of fault codes from garage anyone know.
Sounds like the modulator then, but more likely the ECU or wiring at fault.sorry for delay for this report word 4 word - normal rotation detected on all 4 wheels (internal abs test not a fault) no voltage on ecu pin 1 when ignition on / open circuit to front right outlet valve / no inductive load on front right outlet valve
