Afternoon.

What's the max weight I can put on the tow bar?

I had a pallet 1.1ton put in my trailer but a little far forward so there was about 300kg put on the tow bar drove 15 miles and was rather bouncy

Went over a speed hump an heard a bang with I think was just the pallet but worried me ...

I am pretty sure the nose weight on a standard tow ball is 250 kgs. It's really important that you balance your towing load or you will get a lot of bouncing like you had. I imagine the noise was probably the pallet as the 300kg weight would not have been all on the tow ball so should be ok

According to your owners manual, the recomended max nose weight is 150Kgs with the car at max GVW and the absolute max is 250Kgs with the GVW suitably reduced
