Now I have a Tank Guard on order with a removable hitch been looking at a tow ball. Ideally looking for an Alko variant, as then if we ever go back to a tintent it will work with that, but been looking at the Ball and Pin types for even more versatility, as found this one...

Didn't seem badly priced, but have been told that the neck is only 20mm so not alko compatible as must be 50mm

Just wondering if anyone has/had an experience with this type of setup or any other recommendations?

It all depends what you want the pin for. If you're thinking of towing a Sankey trailer with it, it won't! there's not enough clearance between the pin & casting. You'd need a proper Nato hitch. Also the ball will be slightly higher than a 'standard' 50mm ball hitch.

Ok, thanks for the info, as i was just thinking that if i am getting a tow ball, see what's about, and that advice has saved me getting this one.

Never ever used the pin part, but handy for securing a tow rope maybe.
