Was in tesco today and there is a little timsons booth as you walk out, noticed they do car keys and as I only have one key for my freelander enquired about how much for a new one. £6.5Op later I have just tested it, unlocks the central locking via lock on drivers side door and starts the car! Well impressed.

And they are excellent for remote control fob batteries - about half dealer prices last time I went

You 2 have both got links in yer words. Did you put the links there yourself, or is there something magical about the forum? Noticed it happening a lot recently. Just wondered.

mqgical forum!

basically the companies that underline themselves pay vbulletin the forum makers lots of money

I bet you asked for a pink fluffy keyring to go with it didn't you? All Gaylander drivers have pink things cos you're more camp than a row of pink tents :p

Could be that forums admins have installed a advertising hack or the post creators are adding there own links.

Cant see it being a hack because the links dont have any referer codes included in the links, so I think the posters did it themselves just like THIS LINK HERE.

Lets see if it works then shall we.

Went to Sainsbury's looking for a remote control and ended up on ebay.

Ummmm did it work?

Nope :)

How would the key start the car without the transponder chip? Or is there a recess in the key body to fit your existing chip?

It didnt show up at the time of posting but must kick in every so often and choose key words.

According to the guy at timpsons from around the end of 1999 most cars were fitted with transponders and as mine is early 1999 the key will work the central locking and de-activate the immobiliser. I thought he was bull ****ting but he said keep the reciept and if it dont work i would get a full refund, when i tested the key it worked and my main keys for the car were in the house so it did not pick up the signal. Good old boy he was.
