I have a freelander 2 td4 gs 2.
2 registered february 2012 is camchain or cambelt i've had a look at the engine but i can't tell not had it long . Many thanks...

Welcome to the forum

The diesel FL2's have a timing belt which needs changed as per the service interval. There is also a timing chain inside the engine but that only needs changed if it has a fault or wears.
