i take it slob uses strobe too then
i ve never found one that couldnt be done, jittering stops when its correct unless engines faulty, you can paint mark to make it stand outI can't use a strobe 'cos the mark on my pulley has rusted away - and when it was there it jittered around too much to use so I now do it by ear, with reasonable results. The temp gauge reading is dependant on the engine temp and the state of the voltage regulator and the state of the wiring and the accuracy of the meter and the accuracy of the temp sender so it's fairly approximate at the best of times. It's probably why the "normal" sector is so big!
have you got a link?Better still - follow Slobs guide.

skew gear is quite a tricky beastie to fit with engine in vehicle, probably got a pulley kicking about if you wanted oneI think my dizzy drive cog is worn so it always jittered - the notch on the pulley is no longer there to paint!
