Is it easy to get the timing chain checked for slackness and general condition?

Also what would be the general signs that it was needing replaced?

I don't think I have any issues with mine its just a general querie that I have.

My freelander td4 did a 300 mile round trip on friday up the highlands and I gotta say it was absolutely amazing in terms of fuel consumption!
Best 4x4 I have had for being cheap to run!!

it wont be slack unless you here it rattle as you rev it then let revs off ,wouldnt worry
