Does anyone know anything about if its possible to convert the timing belt to a chain on my 12J N A Diesel? JUst something I am kinda considering.

I have heard of Zeus timing gears, but at £1000 i think I will buy a new belt...
 
Erm, cos they fail less i guess. And it dnt matter if the front oil seal starts to leak. What are the reasons against?
 
Cos they fail less an if yer oil seal starts to leak enough to shag a belt then i should ov bin sorted a few thousand miles ago.
 
:) it is amusing, but which whats-his-face? And my seal dnt leak yet, but i were just musing about the idea.
 
Him wot bought his missus an got a sulk on.

There's a reason they went from chains to belts an it wasn't just fer the cost. A belt will last a lot longer than a chain an dunt stretch owt like as much.

i thought chains last pretty much forever whereas belts can snap? or is that just an automotive myth...?

by the way, got the windscreen seal, cheers robin. do u want any money for the postage? its a bit of a bigger box than the turret rings i sent you!
 
Erm it should be ok, i int checked for a day or 2 but the turret rings arn't here yet. Will look tomorrow.
 
oh dear....

Well I definately sent them, only sent them second class but they should be there by now!

Let me know if you want some money for postage or anything...its not fair you being out of pocket if you dont even get the turret rings....but I honestly did send them, so they must have got lost in the post or something.
 
ill check tomorrow uni halls post system is slow also. Ill have a look. the seal ok? It came with my old 110 but i never bothered with it, it leaked from far too many other places!
