Hi , Recently got myself a 300tdi disco ,137k M reg(e bay special ) unknown service history ;)
Anyways having replaced the one rear hub, bearings oil seal . The seat where the oil seal goes had been badly scored /butchered  ,someone had several attempts to get it to seal by the looks of the mangled locking tab and cold chiesel marks on the hub nut .

so not knowing when the cam belt had been changed that will be next job !
Having got the haynes manual it says you need to lock the flywheel and the injector pump with special tools or a 3/8" round bar and a blanking plug with hole drilled in it .

just wondering if anyone on here sells such items or any parts places online . looked at paddocks they do a timing kits but its £50 or so i think .

Any advice on cam belt changes in general very welcome .

cheers Mike

When I changed my cam belt I used drill bits and tip ex.
The bottom pulley bolt is very tight and must be re-tightened very tight.
