hi all is there a way of visualy inspecting a timing belt on a 300 tdi as we're taking a disco on a 4000 mile banger run an of course cash is at a minimum thanks john

easy if crank pulley pulls off by hand which some do

But do you know what to look for once the cover is off?? Have you any idea when the belt was last changed??
If you go to the bother of taking the cover off you may as well fit a new belt.
