after a recent dip my '93 200tdi disco has developed tight spots in th steering when driving normally, ive checked an greased all th t/rod ends, checked th fluid level in th p/steering an made sure th belt is tight, plus ive jacked up th front an checked for movement/tightness in th swivel ball bearings and all seems fine, but, ive still got th problem an its slowly getting worse

anybody got any ideas before it locks up completely an leaves me stranded somewhere

check the uj's on the steering column, i have had 2 seize and this gave the same symptoms

My 110 was like that when I got it. It was the uj's on the steering column.

Mine is like that coz the belt slips sometimes, try a new belt or tightening it.

My Tdi 200 was like that so I dripped oil on the uj's on the steering shaft whilst someone turned the steering wheel back & forth and it cured it.

i vaguely remember talk of it in the haynes manual, under troubleshooting i think
