Hi Weeee man i'm not stalking you, but had this problem summer before last, don,t want to alarm tou but mine turned out to be gear box. The remedy was a recon box hope yours is a bit cheaper to sort.

I drove mine for weeks as a ticking noise did not seem to be to major problem, I only got it sussed when i took it to my local indie lr garage on another matter and just mentioned it, he listened and took it for a drive then gave me the good news .

take it to a good lr garage get them to have a listen, hopefully yours will be something simple, does it happen when you are stationary and dip the clutch if so probably not gear box.

put those in myself they have never rattled or leaked, so i must have put them in wrong.

yeah . got some grey padded off cut from local trimmers.
made a cardboard template transfered that on to 4mm ply, and cut a peace of fibreboard the same. stick fibreboard to side with silicone mastic leaving a couple of mm gap around window. use impact adhesive in a spay can, not carpet spay as this will not last( you can get this from flooring wholesaler )and cover ply with material leaving about 10 mm over all round.spray impact adhesive to fibreboard and back of ply when both touch dry carefully line them up and push together to stick, then gently push excess material into the gap with a credit card, if you spay edges of fibre board this will hold material when you push it in .keep it well ventilated or you will be off your face at the end.
don't think this cost me more than 30 quid all in.
