I was pulling a tree down in my front garden using my land rover and had to put in diff lock to stop it spinning on the grass once tree was out unhooked and drove away but now will not come out of diff lock nada clicking when I turn right what have I ****ed ? Btw is a 1996 discovery 300tdi manual

put it in reverse, and lever in the out of diflock position, drive backwaards a few metres should come out

if it carries on clicking you have trashed a CV

Drove up the road in reverse and it fixed no clicking or anything got some strange looks off the neighbours
How comes it comes out backwards but not forwards?
Thanks for your help

It will come out either way, but because you were using it a fair bit (I presume) to pull trees, The transmission prob got a bit wound up.

Makes sense I spose just glad it came out of diff lock was expecting worse
