Second colour-blind confession on LZ Freelander forum this week - so difficult to tell from me - but a wire brush and some paint might do the job if its only surface rust. Did the MOT say anything?
If you do have to remove it - that big nut on the end looks like its going to be a right bugger to get off!

Give it a good clean and then underseal it. Will stop the rust in its tracks.

I would replace the front wishbones. Just cut the nut off the rear mount stud after you have removed the wishbone(s). New wishbones vary greatly in price and come with ball joint and front bush fitted. Have a look at my previous posts and there is a list of all front suspension nut & bolt sizes together with torque settings.
You could remove the rear mount nut by cutting the protruding threads off and using stillsons or similar to shift the nut. As it is a nyloc nut, chances are the threads are clean where the nut sits.
Regarding the rear arms, they are built from a solid bar with the bush "Eye" welded on and are extremely strong. I would think that either shotblasting or a good session with a wire brush will shift the rust and a couple of coats with Hammerite will finish the job.
You might consider fitting Polybushes instead of original to the arms if you are doing a refurb.
Regarding the underbody, I would wire brush the loose rust and give it a good dose of underseal. I was suprised to see that my F/L was not undersealed at build.....talk about cutting corners !!!
My P38 was well protected underneath at build.

the best way to get a nut off like that is to wire brush the thread and then plenty of oil leave for a while then try you will be surprised I always do this to nuts that have the slightest bit of rust on, and I do not think I have seen one so rusty, a good old fashioned oil spray with old engine oil does a good job.

do not for get it is in the air as well that's why I like to get my car polished before I go to Ireland but did not get the time this year,

wax oils or any old oil will prevent rust from getting a hold, if it is done annually, i wouldnt use paint or under seal as it will just corroded undeneath, the oils penatrate into the rust, apply using a paint brush or hand sprayer its very effective and cheap
