Just come from my friend's house, who has a 300tdi with a Safari Snorkle. We were discussing wading and what not, and I piped up with 'have you tested your snorkle is air tight?' to which he asked 'how do I do that?' So I proceded to explain the 'placing a plastic bag over the grill while the engine is running' method (if the snorkle is air tight the engine will cut out). Well guess what? The bag got sucked tight onto the grill then BANG and it all disapeared down the snorkle!!!!

You have been warned!

Hmm, just re-read my post, I think I should point out that the grille got sucked down the snorkle too!

just to point out that you have to you a quality thick plastic bag not a carrier bag. take the mushroom off the top and use the top of the snorkel.

Totally split my sides at this comment..... hilarious! :D

How did you get the bag out?

Several layers of damp cloth will do the same
