my main reason for buying the freelander, apart from always liking them, was in the hope it would be a better 4x4 than my vitara, to get to our woodland we have to first drive up a private road around a mile long, half tarmac and then a dirt track with lots of potholes, the vitara had us feeling like we were on a bucking bronco, then through a locked gate onto our shared private road, dirt track with lots of holes, ruts etc, again the vitara managed this ok, but it was forever in your head that you'd get stuck, especially if its been raining hard as certain areas get very boggy, waterlogged, the last visit in the vitara we got stuck, into 4wdh, no luck, into 4wdl and got through ok

well today in the LR, 10 out of 10, she plodded along it 2nd gear, hardly a jolt was felt, and the muddy bit I just drove through with confidence, its nice not having to worry about should you stay in 2wd or 4wd, the freelander does it all for you

PERFECT:D

Nice little story,,,;)

I love our Freelander,
and the closest I have got to off roading so far was mounting the kerb..

Someday soon though...:)

Well done. Got any pic's?

as my missus is currently in america, it was just me and the kids, so of course I forgot to take both the go pro and the good camera, but I'll get some footage next week, did this little clip on my phone, we were there 3 weeks ago and hardly any leaves at all, now its green everywhere, we have started to clear a pathway and camping area of all the brambles, as this plot had not been touched for a number of years, lots of coppiced hazel, the hazel we have cut gets used to make dead hedges and spoons

its green - YouTube
