My 2.3T Iveco Daily and 700kg trailer was towed 8 miles by a freelander through 6 inches of snow.

as we started off I put the power on to get us moving but as we were driving if I put the power on it was all :crazy_driver: so I put it in neutral and let him pull me which it did with ease.

If anyone commits suicide in the light of this information I don't take any responsibility for it :rolleyes:

I do have video but it's from a road hawk on board video cam which has a weird ub1 file extension so youtube won't let me upload it

Come on all you jealous bugger's just admit you know freelanders are just as good as any discovery/defender n other landy's in the snow :praise::5bboxing_smiley:

Type the file type and what you want to covert it to, into google, and it will advise on conversion. Would be shame to miss out on the video.

hahah, another one under the illusion that cos their gaylanders been ok in the snow its actually good. Me golf sdi has been fine every day through the snow doing hundreds of miles.Dont mean its any good.

Minty's 96 Nissan Micra has made it to work every time she's needed and never got stuck once. does that make it better than a gaylander?? :confused:

Assume it was actually a Freelander 2 then? (can't see pics at work)

They at least have some more umpf and street cred over the gaylander1

Glad someone stopped to help. I'm always of the opinion its better to stop, check then move on than ignore. Most of the time you get the 'i'm fine, thanks' but you never know.
 
If it was towing an artic or even a 7.5tonner I'b slightly impressed. but FFS it's a transit sized van hardly the towing feat of the year is it..

It was an 06 plate, i'm not clued up on freelanders

The bit he pulled me out of was 6 inches deep, that picture is 5 miles up the road , we tried to get it moving again further up but an empty pickup with no weight on the back towing a 750kg trailer has no grip at all, I'd have been able to drive on that but the queue behind me was huge so he just kept going rather than try again.

I didn't start the thread to debate the towing abilities of the freelander, I started it to thank the guy for stopping and helping, he did pull 3 tonnes out of 6 inches of snow with virtually no help from me as my wheels were just spinning
