mine does not sit in the middle its sits about 5/6mm off center when its up to temperature .but i have just noticed tonight it moves up to the center then back down a few mm when driving along .
why ??

Does the gauge seem to flick quickly, if so it may well be a connection problem somewhere. If it drops as you drive along, and rises again when stopped or slow its probably the thermostat stuck open slightly.

if thay fail thay fail open and it hard to get car past 1/4 temp mine is getting to temp with in 2 to 3 miles gauge is just flicking a few mm either way

When my thermostat was failing, it did the same as yours for a while and progressively got worse until it wouldn't get past the quarter mark - so yours could be on it's way out.

i changed the coolent sensor and it now sits just off center but some time drop 3mm then back

well iv ordered the a new thermostat and my mechanic/freind is going to fit it for £50 so as iv been told the **** to fit
