Hey, so I have my new 91 Disco 1.

Not sure whether I should be worried or not, she seems to run and drive fine. However it takes about 10-15 minutes of easy driving for her to warm up and even then it only meets the first marker, not halfway.

Is this normal with these?

My only thought is I could have a dicky thermostat and it is caked with crap so can't open fully.

Thanks,
Jamie

If the thermostat was only partially open your engine would run hotter would it not, and not cooler.

Hello again James, heater works a treat :)

its getting to temp then ,senders can play up ie not register fully or not at all,but as long as you know where normal is any more than that should make you aware, but temp guauge isnt an accurate device ,you can test thermostat by feeling top hose ,cold stat is shut ,hot stat is open

Ok will monitor it, just want to be safe and not sorry, trucks still new to me, so still getting use to its qwerky ways :)

cab heaters a good indication of cooling system ,hotter than normal ,engines too hot ,cold or colder coolant loss

I'll try and monitor the temp that way.

Be good to fix it though so it does read correctly, temperature senders are only a few quid normally aren't they?
