hi
i have had an engine conversion done from a 2.5 turbo to a defender 200tdi but the temp gauge is only just getting above the cold and heater not very hot!! any ideas any1??:(

New thermostat and bleed the system.:)
Agree, cheap and easy to do inorl.

Check top and bottom hoses when 'up' to temp, if they're cool or cold and both similar temps to each other then I'd say thermostat failed open or non-existant.

sorry i'lll ask someone else whos not such a dickhead
what like the dick head who hijacked a thread on temp gauge to ask about modifying his defender?? and that has what exactly to do with a temp gauge?? Like I said start ya own thread don't be just posting wherever yui feel like it. ****ER.

You'll go far on here stupid cuunt. You should have ****mysister as a user name you inbred tw@t.

i did ask about it to which the replie was these engines run colder than 2.5 turbo?

As long as the block and thermostat housing is hot then the rest may be cold.

It isnt uncommon for the top hose to be just warm and the bottom hose cold.

These engines dont heat up quick so you need a good thermostat.

Must say though that mine improved greatly when I put a new radiator on, cant think why that helped it to warm up.

.

Mine takes about a mile to start getting warm and it's up to temp in about 4 miles, heater gets hotter if you rev it a bit to circulate the water.:)
