a friend of mine is giving me an old rover that is parked in his woods. It has a 1968 date on the door frame, but the headlights are in the fenders, not the grill. All the 68's Iv'e seen, theheadlights are in the grill. It has a short wheelbase, 88 inches I think, and a diesel 4 cyl. The injectors are missing along with the intake manifold, if it even comes with a manifold. Just long studs remain. If someone could tell me anything about this vehicle, model, horsepower, parts availability etc, I would appreciate it.

ee laddo it could be anything. you unbolt a series 11 wing and bolt on a series 111 wing. or if yer yella a defender wing.

Has it still got any kind of plate anywhere giving some more details? In the injun bay, on the bulkhead?

If the Speedo is in the centre it's a S2 also if it doesn't have an intake on the wing it ain't a S3. Series 2 started having wing mounted headlights in 1968. hope this helps.
