Hi All,

Thinking of taking the plunge with a 2007/2008 TDV8 (circa 7/8k). Will of course look for s/h and well cared for examples. However, what should I be prepared to pay for annual upkeep? My local garage told me anywhere from 3 - 6k and told me to get a Touareg! Surely not?!

Sod the touareg ! If you want something simple, go jap. If you want something a little special go for broke on your specified choice but keep in mind. It rusts, it breaks down and requires big money sometimes! ! But....youll love it if you have a passion and the moment you drive it even with your wallet screaming in tandom with your better half you may well be hooked!! A crap unloved model will make or break your heart and great care is needed. So ask as many questions as you like.

Avoid the TDV8 3.6 not a good motor..

Better off with the 4.4 AJv8 or the 4.2 Supercharged..

Better of going Jap if you want simplicity. the L322 is an expensive beast to run

If you're doing the work yourself then £1k a year might do it but pay a garage and you need serious £££.
