Starting at the beginning, have recently renewed head gasket, p gasket and most other gaskets on the top end.
have had head resurfaced and crack tested.
but now since putting back together the damn thing doesnt want to start.
it turns over ok, but sounds like there is no compression.
thought maybe the lefters had drained down, but taking off the oil filler cap everything seems to be rocking like it should.

i have taken my time doing this a couple of months as time is short and family take most of my time.

anyone any sensible ideas.

Have you had the timing belt off???

no left that well alone, was changed a short time ago, and was fine after,
had head off as overheated, due to collant loss thru p gasket

bet you have not set the valve clearances if you have had the head skimed then they will be open

ahh knew there was something i must of overlooked will grab soom feeler gauges from work, and have a crack at next weekend.

watch this space, us amateurs hey!! but its all a learning curve

martin checked and adjusted valve clearences this morning, fired up first time.
thanks for pointing that out, easily overlooked by us amateurs (me)
