Morning.

On Friday I had a SkyTag tracker fitted and they wired it to the ignition for power. Drove the car at the weekend fine without problems. 3 hours later and full from Sunday lunch I turn the ignition and it won't start. Goes to point I fine and can hear the fuel pump kick in at point II... Yet when the key it turned further there is just nothing. Luckily after 4 attempts it started. Go it home. Switched it off and on and nothing.

What's peoples thoughts?? Has the garage cocked it up and the bumpy track has knocked a wire loose?

Thanks,

Sam

Maybe the starter solenoid is on its way out? Do you get the click of the starter but no spinning? If so you can get a repair kit for about a tenner.

Hi shifty.

No click. Maybe it's a bad earth? Have the AA coming out at 6pm after work to have a look. that the garage was fiddling around with the ignition to get the tracker installed I have my concerns about the coincidence there.

Visited the family at their farm on Sunday which is a bumpy track to the house. 3 hours later and full from Sunday lunch I turn the ignition and it won't start. What's peoples thoughts?? Has the garage linked it up and the bumpy track has knocked a wire loose?

It'd be worth wiggling the fly lead connection on your starter motor too. They are prone to rattling loose or getting corosion behind them.

Location of that connection/The motor?

Yes. Banter at my expense expected...

On the starter motor FFS.:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:;)

drivers side of yer engine, towards the back of the engine bay and half way down. (Below and to the rear of the fuel cooler).

Ok. Will have a check when I get home.

Thanks.

Starter motor circled in red

fuel cooler circled in orange (early type looks likes the one in the picture, the later type looks like a sardine tin)

Ok. Will check that out.

Thanks for the effort you go to. Is what makes this place so invaluable.

Ratty. You were right of course. Thank you.

Guy took the cable off and reattached it and 'hey presto' it worked.

Thanks again.

No probs. I have to give mine a wiggle once every 6 months to a year.:)
