Does anyone know the internal capacities/ cooling area for s standard td5 and 300tdi intercooler?

My 300 intercooler is pretty mangled and i have a mint td5 version kncoking around so the plan is:

My retrofit 300 sits a lot further back due to the lt77 being much shorter than an r380 so i'm considering moving the rad back as far as possible then putting a td5 intercooler in front. It means that I can get a slimline winch (e.g. goldfish 9.5) totally behind the radiator panel and have a lovely approach angle :D

I asked the same a while back as I wanted a better (TD5) intercooler on my 300. turns out, as the hoses all attach in the wrong place it is not worth it.

If it was 2nd hand prices would be as much as ones from allisport and the like.

Considering i've got the intercooler already and can get free rubber hose would you still say its not worth it? Just wondering if it will be of any performance advantage too? :D
Cheers, Harry

Lay it on its back and using a measuring jug fill it up with water and see what it holds.
Im sure someone will have a 300 one laying around to save you removing yours.
I bet theres not a lot of difference capacity wise as td5 one is thin.
But as its got a larger surface area it may be more efficient.

I have a td5 cooler fitted to my 300 discovery the hoses etc cost me about £60 and the cooler was £25 2nd hand off ebay

I ran the hoses along the back of the intercooler in a nice length of ali pipe which again aids cooling and then mounted them onto the originals where the old cooler was.

I tweaked the fuel pump a little and bobs your uncle saved £400 and got a very nice increase in performance

Even before I tweaked the pump there was a nice increase in torque thought out the rev range.

and all of this in a standard discovery 300 tdi so should fit in your def no bother all in all cost me under £100 better than £400+
