When I switch it off after giving it a little bit of the old right foot the turbo seems to make a sort of winding down noise like its spooling down is this normal ? Am new to td5's I've had a bit of a search but don't think td5 turbo oooooooow is going to get many results

always let turbos cool before turning off.

I do use to have an Evo 8 but still seems to do it .

It seems to be what this fella is saying


You sure it is the turbo? There is the centrifugal oil filter just below (well it is on a Disco TD5) that continues to spin when the engine is turned off, stops after a 30secs - 1 min. It makes a spinning noise but you get used to it after a while and don't notice it. Same as the fuel lift pump during pre-start.

So it sounds like shes ok
