With the top timing pin in the camshaft how much should you be able to move the flywheel with a screwdriver? I noticed after locking the camshaft that the flywheel slot was half a hole out, but was able to move it with a screw driver.
Sounds like you would be pushing against the tensioner to line up the hole so no big deal? When I had mine apart the top sprocket bolts were a bit mangled so it didnt line up perfectly

Seems likely esp if someone has been in there before. When I stripped mine you couldn't get both pins in at the same time, on reassembly i lined them up and all was fine
