Hi All

Havent posted for a long long time, but havent really needed too. Sold my old td5 hard top for a 53reg CSW 90 td5 a couple of months ago. Been brilliant, except yesterday when i floored it at about 65 on the motorway to overtake. Once it hit 70ish, it coughed a spluttered and flatly refused to overtake. Tried it in other gears and does the same thing at high revs.

And YES!! I've checked for oil in the ecu harness, nothing but a tiny mark, that looks more lke dirt than oil. Could it be oil, and could it be the problem, i'll post a pic when possible but it really is tiny.

Anyone got any other points i should check.

Thanks

Adsey

hi guys,m thanks for the VERY prompt reply's,

ratty first: was sold to me fully serviced, looked like a new filter but on a side note (NEVER TRUST REID LAND ROVERS IN HORSHAM!! Lying little buggers)so it might not have been done.

landy: the fuel pump is definately whinier than my old td5, but its been like that for 5000 miles, and hasnt got worse. Only just noticed this problem, but dont floor it very often.

I'd try a new decent quality fuel filter first. Don't forget to prime the system after fitting.

cheers ratty, will do that.

If you're in any doubt as to wether it was done or not. I'd stick a complete set of filters on so that you can start from scratch with your own service history.

after a few thousnad miles I gave it an oil change, new rotor filter, new air filter, and new gearbox and trasfer box oil.

The only things i've been meaning to do are change the axle oils, and give it a new fuel filter. So will get on and do them both now.
