As it is getting colder my 03 Td5 has only sometimes for a moment rough idle on start up from cold.

It won't happen again for that day, it seems to only happen when it is cold outside.

Car is running fine

I go and read the codes now (should have done that before I posted, I know)

Hi mate my fathers does this but only when cold... Worse in the winter months... Done it for well over 100.000 miles

Glow plugs didn't resolve this

Still runs nice though

Think about the fact it has 4 glow plugs and 5 cylinders.

Does it feel like 4 OK and 1 a bit rough?

this would not be relevant for the starting issue cos disconneting it gets that delay mentioned by @johnlad , disconnecting it is usefull only for running issues... a good glow plug should have 0.9 ohm resistance against earth though it's important to make sure that they get feed too if all good
OK will be measuring glow plugs in the weekend!
