It deffinitely is but if you think that only replacing the o-ring you'll fix the oil ingress you are completely wrong and even the 60p would be wasted money
Cos the main problem is at the solenoid plugs and most of the oil is coming through the wires as capilary ingress, replaceing the o-rings might reduce the ingress in that plug or slightly at the ECU red plug but that's only max 25% of the problem... there was a time when i thought myself that only replaceing the o-rings is the cure which i did without much joy... better replace the loom cos then you are covered for few years again, the o-ring won't fix the weak contacts at the solenoid plugs whatsoever believe me
There is an OEM Leoni version at island 4x4 even though the genuine LR is the best but dont put cheap harness cos it will not last a year and it can give fault codes from the beginning
No, the Leoni is OE just not at the genuine's high quality but better than britpart or other cheap aftermarket... though IMO in this area it's better to bite the bullet even with the price difference cos the genuine will last at least 3 times more and better contacts in the plugs... after my failure with the o-ring thing i bit the bullet for a genuine and that was 6 years ago, still dry while i've heard about others with leoni that it leaked after 2-3 years... your choice
Good choice, just keep cleaning the red plug once a week untill all the oil gets out of it
Useful info here and timely for me as I cleaned my red plug out today and it's clear that I need to replace the injector harness too. It was only done 2-3 years ago, by previous owner, so they must have gone for the cheaper harness. Where did you get your LR harness LandyMan?
