When changing gearbox and transfer box oils on my 2005 TD5 90 this afternoon found that both drain plugs were taper type with female square drive - not hexagon headed with copper washers as in Haynes manual etc. Does anyone know if this was a Land Rover modification or if some mechanic has had a good idea. It is low mileage, according to the service record there has been only one previous change of oils.

This is not creating a problem, but I am just curious.
