Hi everyone, All the best for 2007.

I have a 2000 Discovery TD5 Manual. I have a problem with my low down power when I take of on a slight incline the car often stalls and runs quite roughly. I have have had a Unichip fitted which has improved the mid range considerably, it had also improved the the take off problem slightly.
I know on some of the earlier TD5s the ECU was a problem and Land Rover recommended that the dealers change the ECU, the bad ECU has a part number MSB1010083 which is what is in my TD5, has anybody had any similar experiences, and could I change the unit for a new one part number nnn000120 available locally in Durban South Africa. Thanks for reading my tale.

Are you new to the vehicle? The Td5 does lack power below 1500 - it is the "way there are" and it is apparently quite common when you first start driving one to stall it often! If you are new to it, I'd suggest trying out another Td5 and seeing if it is the same or not - give you a better idea if it is your engine specifically.

Hi Guys

Thanks for the feedback But I have 5 Friends with TD5's and they are all better than mine by far, I have cleaned the air mass sensor and the readings are the same as a couple of others.

I have driven this car for 23000kms.
