About to do the td5 dash conversion.
Been reading up on the "how to" Installing a Defender Td5 Instrument Pack into a 200Tdi/300Tdi - Land Rover Technical Blog

Got a rough idea of what im doing haha, any hints/ tips from anyone done it before?
Anything to check or do differently or simply follow the guide, one thing at a time and double, double check the wiring hahaa.
Will only get one day to do it all as its my daily driver so can't afford to get it wrong haha
Cheers

Hi doing this to my 300 tdi soon
I've got the gauges and the harness plus speedo transducer and temp sender
Just need to order a multi plug and some wire and terminals
My best advise is check your transducer will fit the gear square peg correctly and that you run through the procedure in advance

lol I've fitted a Tdci bulkhead to mine and just prefer the gauges
My cable driven speedo had a new cable but likes to vary between 10 to 20 mph readings and gets itself a bit lively at times
Seen as the wires for the transducer were in my bulkhead.......

Hi
Did you get your conversion done?

Any stumbling points to be aware of?

I have a 90 with a disco 200tdi engine and wondered if that will make much difference?

Cheers
Kev

Yes all done.
Put a day aside do it in,
Only problems I've had is buying the wrong temp sender so my gauge wasn't working! My own fault!!
Hand break light was staying on but turned out to be a bad connection as I pushed the plug into the dash harder and it went out.

All I can say is when your matching up the multi plug vehicle side and all the warning lights, double then tripple check the wiring and plug numbers before you push the pins home into the plugs.

The warning lights take the most time as you have to follow the bulb on your old warning pannel to see where it meets the plug then cut the right wire one at a time!!
Most of It is straight forward but just take it slow and keep checking!!
