Hi, I have a td4 Freelander 52 plate. When you apply gently pressure to the accelerator in any gear and try to drive economicaly at low revs, the ride is rough,it fells like fuel is not getting through. Apparat from that the engine sounds good.
I have just taken it for a mot at a general garage and the mechanic said it may be the accelerator sensor. He also said that I should be careful of my drive shaft seizing up. He said it may do this as when you reverse on full lock, everything tightens up.
This is only my second land rover. My last one was a 1980 109. Im a bit out of my depth with the Freelander.
Many thanks darren

Hello, yesterday I decided to have a look under the bonnett.
I removed and cleaned the e g v valve and found it completely full of tar.
The job took me about two hours (I'm not very quick). After a test drive it appears to have solved the problem.
What a waste of time those valves seem to be!.
It looked like it was the first time it had been removed after 70k.

Regards Darren

Have a look in the FL section for a few other useful bits to clean, check, replace discard etc...... There's quite a few useful tweaks that don't cost a fortune :)
