I went out tonight and driving home had a worrying drive back.
The engine felt & sounded sick. It was very, very rough, like it was about to cut out on me. If I backed off the throttle it would hiccup. I accelerated away from the M25 traffic lights at Godstone heading north up the Caterham bypass and it would not go over 50mph up the incline. Acceleration is dire, I tried several times by putting my foot to the floor and the speed just crept up slowly.
Feels like a misfire. I'm attempting to upload a video. of me driving it & the engine noises taken using my in car recorder.
It is a TD4 auto from 2006, with EGR delete, Cyclone PCV, silicone turbo hoses, Ronbox & Pierberg MAF, a new Air filter (Pipercross) and a fuel filter by the rear offside wheel arch Supposedly had the injectors serviced before I bought it 2 months ago. It had 113,000 miles when I bought it and now has 116,200 miles on the clock.
Would the fuel pump cause this? Or something else? The car has warranty so I will call the supplying dealer in the morning, but they can't look at it as they are 100 around 100 miles away.
I need the car for work..... luckily I'm not using it tomorrow.
