My poor hippo td4 is running a bit rough. It appears to be getting oil coming out of the front air pipe. The one right on the front of the engine any clues as to why I freed the egr off last year which this pipe goes too. New on here so hello everyone

Do you mean the air duct or the intercooler rubber hose ? also have you changed the PCV filter since it being in your ownership.

A small about of oil in the pipework is normal. Small quantities of oil mist are expelled from the turbo oil seal. This gradually increases as the turbo sees more mileage.
I expect your inlet manifold is coked up with goop. This is a byproduct of the oil, after it is particularly burnt by the hot exhaust gas passing into the EGR valve. This clogs the inlet manifold, and makes it generally run badly.
Also the crank filter needs changing, as Arctic2 has said.

Thanks for the advice I changed the filter last year and have just put a cyclone one in today. Think I have lots of gunk cleaning to come.
