New problem on 2001 TD4. Car starts well when cold, when stopped and left for about an hour it turns over and fails to fire.

Have tried reading diagnostics, no fault codes. Previous threads suggest cam sensor. Has anyone got the resistance readings on the 3 pins to check before replacing?

Any other tests that I can do to confirm it is the sensor? When the car starts it runs perfectly so am assuming injectors all o.k.

As stated , my first thought cam/crank sensor !

You can try spraying it with freeze spray to cool it.

Defo worth a go , cam sensor went on a corsa I once owned same symptoms !

Hi, Just to conclude. Cleaned all contacts, tried to read with generic reader and no codes. Took to a garage (a good one who reads data for you) and behold - P1E25 Cam Sensor Statically Defective - Intermittent.

Changed sensor - £100 but a LR original part and all is well. Will probably do leak back test for completion.
