I recently purchased a clutch master cylinder from an internet based scrap yard who told me it came from a 2000mile TD4 so should be a good one. Anyway I recieved it today but he hasn't included the pipe work with it. The pipes just been cut-off mad: ) below the master cylinder outlet, so I was wondering how easy it is to change the pipe, as the new ones i've seen all come with the pipes already. Also the fluid has leaked out where its been cut so I guess I will have to put new fluid in and bleed the system somehow.

The main problem is how do I change the pipe on the master cylinder end. I tried removing the split pin and pulling the pipe out but it doesn't seem to budge. It does however rotate in its fitting, so I guess it must come out somehow.

Any advice would be really grateful!

Pipes normally come off from the cylinder some how. Not sure how though.
You will need to bleed the system even if it did have fluid in it. Where you reconnect the pipes there will be air. It's easy to bleed, don't worry too much. Does a Haynes manual not give info for this job?

Unfortunately I don't have a haynes manual and the 'genuine' landrover CDROM manual I have doesn't say anything about the pipe connection on the cylinder!

well you would have thought it would pull out but if not looks like you have been ripped off, you would have thought they would have sold it to you intact.

I'm assuming you've never changed one LR Guy? Now there's a first

changed loads, just that it comes with a pipe and a quick release connector to join it to the slave as a complete unit.

they must have cut the pipe due to being too lazy to release the proper connector.

I have now agreed to send it back to the seller and get my money back. I think I'll have to dig deep and buy a new one with all the pipe work. Don't suppose anyone on here knows the best place to get one?
