yes that could be worrying .. .. though .. does it work ?
( i suspect if the connection were back to front .. you might get overboost at higher rpm ..
( 'n the ecu would cut the power to prevent damage ..
( and/or maybe not enough boost at lower rpm
( tricky .. seeing as there are 3 hoses
er .. haynes manual is of no help .. just checked ..
well .. failing further google or site searches ..
i can check mine in the morning .. 'n see what hose is connected to where ..
i.e. can try with mirror and torch ..

that's the same as listed in the post above so i am sure that my car is wrong.
I also think that this is the way the same sort of valve is on VWs.
i have now changed my car and it looks like the vnt is stuck, likely from not being used in ages!
I will get under at the weekend and see if i can free it off and report back.

Just wanted to update this, maybe it will help some one in the future.

The vnt mech on the turbo should be movable by hand or finger more exactly.
Once I re piped the boost valve as advised in this thread I set about moving the vnt mechanism .
It had got stuck in about the middle, so pushed it up with a screw driver and was able to move it a bit then used a ring spanner to pull it down, with a clunk it came down and after working it up and down a bit more it was free moving.
It was possible to test by using the live vac pipe and putting it directly on the Pull down valve.
Result is the car is sooo much better, pulls well from low revs, feels more powerful and just better!
On to the next problem!

Great thread, it has problem, advice & most important the Solution & feedback, so many threads don't have any feedback, thanks
I suspect this problem is more common that people think because the actuator is mounted at 45 degrees & is open at one end, it gets full of mud ( well it does if you like doing a bit of wading in muddy water ) & that stops it from moving
