I was just going to check out car prices,freelanders are going up,then was going to search land cruisers,when I saw tata,never seen one before.Maybe you all know about them,but I've often wondered who/what they are

€10'000 for a new one ffs.

Correct but very few Tata badged vehicles sold in the UK.

Aye TATA bought Landrover and Jaguar off Ford last year i think. There used to be a few TATA's in Crewe where i lived, horrible looking vehicles.

Yes Tata own Jaguar and LandRover.

It's a good deal for both... Tata gets the brand cachet associated with the JLR brands, and also gives good export opportunites to the far east and India through Tatas existing network.

JLR get the benefit of being owned by a company who actually has money available for a change, so is able to produce new models much more quickly than usual, and invest more in R&D.

Yup... they bought Corus back in Jan 07 for $12 billion!

JLR cost them just over $2bn.
