Just bought my 300Tdi Disco.
Heater luke warm so off to local motor factor for a thermostat, sold me the wrong one for £8ish.
Luckily it was a tad too big so wouldn't fit once the seal was on.
So whilst waiting for the correct one I googled it and found this.

Got the correct one for £3.25 even kept it for me whilst I drove down, first class service.
The moral is be careful what bits you are given

Had this with mine a few weeks ago. I fixed by getting some rad cleaning stuff from Halfrauds the strong 2 part stuff. Drain rad and put first part in. Run for a hour or so whilst driving then drain. It is amazing the amount of crap that comes out. Then what I think is the more important bit. Back flush the heater matrix by disconnecting the in hose. The find the metal pipe that runs along the top of the engine (this is the out pipe) disconnect the hose near the thermostat housing. The stick a gardens hose on that and reverse flush lots of crap will come out. Reconnect and fill with water run for awhile then repeat before putting in part 2.

I found that rather than tack to bottom hose of the rad to drain if you take the pipe off the expansion tank and lower it is easier to get to makes the whole drain,fill,drain,fill,drain,fill process easier. Now it really hot and working a dream.
