Has any one fitted an auxiliary one?
I have seen a You tube video but I just cant fathom the wiring out?
 
I know but once I trace it back to the multi pin in the side of the boot I just cant get it to work? I think I will have to fit a new cable and thread it along side the existing one
 
I did this a few weeks ago...
Get into the tail flap. The two wires going into the switch (with the wee plug on). Splice new wires into those and take them to wherever you want the new switch.
(I just wanted to be able to open the back from the inside...) You need a contact and release type button. I got this from 12volt Planet sales@12voltplanet.co.uk

If you trace those wires back I'm sure you will be able to splice into them before they go into the tail gate.

Also seems to make a more satisfying clunk from inside :)
 
Thanks I will thread a new wire as I tried to find them ay the multi pin inside the boot but with little success
 
I think there's a fix somewhere for a mechanical override using string from the inside. That sounds reliable as a get out of jail backup.

If a bit of string can be done, i would look at a bike gear cable so its like the bonnet catch, maybe something to have play with:rolleyes:
