at last got my self a t-300 programmer
first job was to add another fob to the 1999 mgf and see if there are any faults also you can read the eka codes and change them if need be and adjust the co levels for the mot
next was the freelander 1999 fault codes it had 2 cleared them and they have not come back then onto another fob the fobs i got from a scrap yard you can add upto 4 fobs
the only faults i could not get at was the hill decent light i have on but not a problem
then onto the eka code that was a long winded one so changed that to one i can remember
just have to play around with it now to see what else it will do

just me old age the co level if to high for the emission test you can adjust then set back as it was before the test
i will play with it some more and let you know what else it can do it will do all the mems and will ask what mems you have my mgf and freelander are both mems 1.9

just had a little play
1999 1.8i freelander
so far i have done a 2nd fob
adjusted the tickover up and down
adjusted the co levels up and down
read fault codes and cleared
live data is no good as has been said on another forum the mems system cannot cope the engine cuts out

then had a little search through it has a big list on all the cars and the cd you get gives you info on each vw it will do the auto gearbox i only looked at that as was asked
in all it does most things on many cars but not all so as an above average code reader and what it was meant for programming keys

on the freelander i used the basic obd cable to programme the fobs
but on the mgf i got another lead from another forum that has a sw thats goes from mems to 5as
if you read up on the ad100 i think its called the t-300 is a clone of that many of the manuals on the cd are for the ad100

thanx for all the advice...

as im not sure about the hawkeye programming used fobs this could be the way round itfor the price
 
It's handy if you can alter the CO as you can compensate for the cat aging. Or possibly remove the cat altogether then compensate for the Mot, very handy.

apart from the keys and fault finding the co adjustment is also what did it for me as over the last 2 years both my mg's co reading was high so i can adjust it lower before the mot or evan if it fails i can do it there and then for a pass
not had to do a mot on the freelander yet but the t300 will be in the car ready :D
still have alot to learn about it for my Renault van thats a 1999 and it read the aka and ecu so far just reading up on what code i need to enter to do a spare fob
its not a do all bit of kit none ever are but will help over the years of owning other cars

the only way i could be sure is if some one local could let me plug it in
evan the manual just has a list of freelander /landrover/rangerover not stating engine or model type
but did the landrover /freelander and range-rover come under bmw at some point i will have a look in the list and see if it has bmw
or are wee talking pre2001 v6

My V6 is a 2001. The engine was a Rover design that originally used a Mems ecu. The Later Rover cars and the Freelander do have a few sensors shared with BMW including the ecu iirc.

it should work but if you know of anyone in the northants area on the forum with a v6 that would like it plugged in to find out i would be ok most w/ends
